Since its inception, S.K.S.S Charitable Trust Sarabha, (Ludhiana) 141105 Pb., has been working hard to make multiple efforts for providing the best of services in the fields of health and medical education. Its endeavours include S.K.S.S Charitable Multispecialty Hospital, S.K.S.S Ayurvedic Medical College, S.K.S.S College of Nursing and S.K.S.S Dental College. Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Charitable Hospital at village Sarabha is a Multispecialty Charitable Hospital situated in the heart of vast rural belt.
It has become a synonym of best possible diagnostic and treatment services being provided to a large number of people dwelling in this rural area. It was started in the year 1988-1989, as a small OPD unit with the graceful inspiration and efforts of its Founder Chairman Late. S. Sukhdev Singh Grewal. In a very short time it metamorphosed into an indoor hospital. Earlier it had the services of medical specialist only. Now it is a multispeciality hospital.
S. Avtar Singh Grewal took over as the Chairman of the trust with S. Inderjit Singh Grewal as Gen. Secretary of the Trust on 13th June 2002. It was then that the institute named SKSS Ayurvedic Medical College started taking shape and gaining momentum. Now the college is successfully imparting education for B.A.M.S. course. The college has a beautiful building with proper infrastructure, separate boys and girls hostels, Ayurvedic O.P.Ds. and Hospital. Here the patients are treated with Ayurvedic system of medicine.

After some time, it was strongly felt that courses of Nursing education were the prime demand of area. Keeping the same in view the project of SKSS college of Nursing was started (in the year 2006) along with hostels for the staff and students. Presently in this college A.N.M, G.N.M, B.Sc. Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing and M.Sc. Nursing courses are being run successfully.

In the due couse of time when the Nursing College was in the early growing stage, a still bigger project of a Dental College came into the pipeline. During this span of time S. Hoshiar Singh Grewal donated generously for the development of this group of medical institutes.The donation of a prime piece of land by the Trustee S. Kewal Singh Grewal has also been a great contribution. Along with the efforts of other Trustees, the Dental college named S.K.S.S. Dental College was started in the year 2009 which now has a full fledged building and departmental infrastructure with separate boys and girls hostels. The college imparts education for B.D.S. course. On clinical side, the college has different 100 Dental chairs to provide treatment for various Dental patients.

After his long tenure S.Avtar Singh Grewal relinquished the post and then S. Hoshiar Singh Grewal was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Trust. This Group of Medical Institutes kept on flourishing well under his regime and very well maintained the prestigious standards of the organization. The main hospital SKSS Charitable Hospital, never looked back.
Now it has the O.P.D and I.P.D services in the departments of Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics, Pediatrics and Urology. Infrastructure for Gynecology obstetrics and ophthalmology is ready.
Now the hospital has a well established General O.T. Many types of General (open and Laparoscopic) surgeries are carried out regularly. A separate Eye O.T and I.C.U are equipped with modern facilities of required equipments like Ventilator, Cardiac Monitor etc.. All the wards have Air Conditioning, Oxygen and Vaccume Pipe Line for each bed. Facilities like X-Ray, ECG, Ultrasound Scan, Echo Cardiography are also available in the hospital. Emergency services are available round the clock. At present S. Jatinder Singh Grewal is very much gracefully holding the responsibility as the Chairman of the Trust and S. Kewal Singh Grewal discharging the duty of the Secretary of the Trust.
With the induction of C-arm, the hospital got a boost in the surgeries related to Joint Replacement and Spine. 24 hours Emergency and Ambulance services are available. Our Patho-Lab is equipped with modern instruments and apparatus like Auto-Analyser etc. The best part of the services is that the facilities, services and medical aid is provided at Charitable / Affordable rates as compared to other hospitals in the cities etc. Being a known Charitable Hospital providing the best health services to the people, this hospital has become a focal point for vast area in the rural population.
Far and near there are 35-40 villages to which the Medical / Health services are catered by this hospital.
Thousands of people have easy access to our institute. We also organize free medical camps in the villages. The Gurudawara Sahib in the campus is a source of spiritual enlightenment for all. The unique feature here is the Free Langar for patients and their attendants.
During whole of this, in the administrative scenario, S. Amrik Singh Grewal was given the charge of acting Chairman for some time to carry out the duties in the absence of the Chairman and the Secretary, and later on it was handed over to S. Paramjeet Singh.
A CT Scan Machine has been started on 18th Dec 2023 for proper diagnosis of so many disorders in different parts of the human body.
Off late a Dialysis unit was established with the contribution by the famous Rotary club, AIPNO and medical Yatra team 2020.
Further more a special Women Care Clinic has been set up where modern equipment for detection, diagnosis and treatment for early cancer of cervix has been commissioned and Cryotherapy is practiced.
Presently Mrs. Paramjeet Kaur Pandher is in the chair and is gracefully putting her wholesome efforts to run this establishment as the acting Chairperson. This is a humble submission and expression about the efforts so far made by Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Charitable Trust. It has all so far been possible with the collective efforts of all the trustees, people of this village, area and the donors from India and abroad. It has to go a long way yet and scale new heights, we hope and pray.
Keeping the specialities and departments of the hospital in view, it is very much felt that the hospital must have more diagnostic facilities for in-depth evaluation of the patients’ ailments. Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Charitable Trust is making its best efforts to accomplish this mission also.
